How does the Upper Limb Confidence Plan work with your manufacturer warranty?
All myoelectric terminal devices and elbows manufactured by Ottobock come with a 2-year limited warranty, providing coverage for defects in materials and workmanship. The Upper Limb Confidence Plan expands the scope of coverage beyond what is allowed within the limited manufacturer’s warranty, adding an extra layer of protection to cover accidental damage for a total of 3 years from the date of device delivery.

The Upper Limb Confidence Plan is offered by Otto Bock HealthCare, LP and is only valid in the United States and Canada.
The Upper Limb Confidence Plan does not include repairs due to force majeure, gross negligence or willful misuse as determined by Otto Bock HealthCare, LP.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Upper Limb Confidence Plan provides an extra layer of protection for all myoelectric terminal devices and elbows beyond the limited warranty. It includes:
- Free repairs for accidental mechanical damage not covered by the warranty
- Free replacement of wear and tear parts not covered by the warranty
- Free 24-month maintenance
- Willful misuse or abuse of the device
- Loss or theft
- Force majeure
- Dynamic Arm Carbon Fiber Shell
- Batteries, Battery Chargers, Electrodes, Electrode Cables, and other myoelectric accessories
- Substitution of parts not approved by Ottobock
- Damage caused by alteration or repair by an unauthorized party
The plan is completely free of charge for all myoelectric terminal devices and elbows manufactured by Ottobock.
The plan is not available for any other devices or components at this time.

Yes, we do offer loaners for myoelectric terminal devices and elbows. Please request the loaner at the time of making a request for service. Learn more about the loaner program here.
If the responsibility for clinical care for the patient has transferred to a new prosthetist, please contact our After-Sales Service team and we will update our records to reflect the change. Please note that the UL Confidence Plan cannot be transferred to another user from the original person fit with the device.
